Dr. Charles Halterman graduated from the University of California - San Francisco, College of Dentistry and completed a residency program in pediatric dentistry at the Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, New York. He later went on to earn a Master of Arts degree at the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry, San Francisco. Dr. Halterman is a Diplomate and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

Professional organizations Dr. Halterman belongs to include the American Society of Dentistry for Children, and the American, California and San Mateo County Dental Associations. He is a member and contributor to the Bay Area Pedodontic Study Club. He has authored three articles in national peer-reviewed dental journals and is an instructor for dental students at the Pediatric Dental Clinic at University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
